Tim Keller’s Mayoral Theme Song?

That song, of course, should be “Breaking The Law” by Judas Priest.

But hey, “he acted in good faith” so it doesn’t really matter, does it?

Friday’s Bizarre Phone Call

Filed under: Fun, Humor, Life, Politics — Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , — mikewb1971 @ 7:02 PM (19:02)

Friday afternoon (4 November 2016), I received a call from a Hillary Clinton supporter (calling from a private number) who complained about a robocall from the Gary Johnson campaign. The caller then proceeded to ramble on for 57 minutes about Gary being too stoned and narcissistic to be a good little Buddhist Democrat, that Gary was “stealing votes” from Hillzilla, along with side rants about Susana Martinez, Trump, the GOP in general, the Albuquerque Journal, and Ralph Nader (for “stealing votes” from Gore in 2000).

The caller also stated that Gary didn’t climb Mt. Everest as he said he did (and took pictures from the summit), that he was a lousy governor of New Mexico, didn’t do anything but say “no” to well-meaning “progressive” legislation that was “for the children,” that no one pays any attention to her “because I’m white,” that Susana Martinez was elected as Governor in 2010 solely on the strength of her last name, among other things.

I have the app “Automatic Call Recorder” installed on my LG K7, but it turns out that the app is the app equivalent of dogshit, as I discovered when I tried to copy the saved call from my phone to Facebook, WordPress or my laptop’s hard drive.

Team Hillary Spews Yet Again

Filed under: Humor, Politics, Principles — Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , — mikewb1971 @ 5:59 PM (17:59)

No, that isn’t the actual Hillary Clinton for President campaign bus.

But maybe it SHOULD be Her Majesty’s official stagecoach.

Hillary’s performance as a U.S. Senator and Secretary of State was bad enough – the above picture sums up her “public service” rather nicely.

So does the next bit –

Remember this scene from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation ?

The reality in Lawrenceville, Georgia doesn’t seem to be far from that clip –

Gateway Pundit: Figures. Hillary Bus Caught Dumping Sh*t on Highway (VIDEO)

WND: Hillary bus caught illegally dumping poop in street

CBS-46 WGCL-TV video clip on reddit

One wonders if Christian de la Rosa (the local TV reporter on the scene) will soon be dead found after having “committed suicide” from being shot in the back of the head several times, from different angles. Or killed via an “accident” at the local gym.

For what it’s worth, maybe Donald Trump might get some mileage out of this incident for a few days, but does anyone really expect any significant legal ramifications from this for Team Hillary?

Seriously, folks?

If any of us Joe Sixpack types did that sort of thing, we would be looking at hefty federal-, state-, and local-level fines (at least 10,000), jail or prison time, a felony conviction, being unhireable for years, that sort of thing.

If anything happens to Team Hillary, it will most likely fall upon the bus driver and campaign crew of the bus. Any senior staff involved will most likely skate on this one.

Of course, I’m just guessing here, but if the past is any indicator – the private home-based server, Benghazi, Rosatom, Libya, Syria, the DNC emails, Vince Foster, Whitewater, the 1994 White House health care task force, interactions with George Soros, – Hillary and her senior staff won’t have to give up the cocktail party circuit one bit.

Yeah, I know what the Hillzillers will say – “She didn’t tell them to do that! You can’t hold her responsible for that!”

Why not?

If anyone is a supporter of third-party liability to get at parties with deep pockets, it’s Hillary.

Just ask the gun industry – she’s been talking about repealing the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act for a while now.

It just goes to show, you might be able to take Hillary out of the corruption, but you can’t get the corruption out of Hillary.

For the record, NO, Hillary is NOT a “wonderful public servant,” despite whatever you’ve heard on CNN. For anyone who says that Hillary has “no criminal intent,” I defy you to cite ten (10) times in the last twenty years when she’s acted WITHOUT criminal intent (the intention of taking from others without their consent, etc.).

Why did Randi McGinn Donate 27k to Hillary Clinton?

According to “Guccifer,” Randi McGinn (the same Randi McGinn who’s currently in the public spotlight as the “special prosecutor” in the trial of APD officers Keith Sandy and Dominique Perez for shooting James Boyd) donated a total of $27,600.00 to Hillary Clinton.

Is she expecting to be appointed as the U.S. Attorney for New Mexico if Hillary wins the White House in November?

More Hoplophobia and Victim Disarmament from Michelle Lujan Grisham

Filed under: Politics, Principles, Self-Defense — Tags: , , , , , , , , , , — mikewb1971 @ 11:21 PM (23:21)

Lujan-Grisham’s original text is in italics, my comments are in bold.

Say you believe that now is the time to act on reducing gun violence in America by adding your name to our petition today.

Show me a responsible gun owner who actually approves of “gun violence,” OK?

Dear Mike,

During my time in Congress, I’ve participated in more moments of silence to honor the victims of gun violence than policy debates about how to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals. It’s unacceptable.

Never mind that the phrase “gun violence” is intended to provoke an anti-firearm emotional state. Notice how the hoplophobes never talk about “knife violence” or “baseball bat violence” or “beer bottle violence” ?

Just look at what our community in New Mexico is coping with right now: — the tragic murder of an ADP police officer — the fatal road rage shooting of a 4-year-old girl in Albuquerque — and another incident just this week in Española where a brawl turned into something worse when a man pulled out a gun and shot an 8-year-old boy

With dangerous weapons killing an average of 36 people every day, it’s only a matter of time until another community in New Mexico has to suffer.

These incidents bring to bare that many communities — that every single community across the country — are suffering from gun violence, and other public safety issues. In Washington, there is a growing sense that we are failing to act as policy makers, yet action continues to be stalled. And these recent shootings are a reminder of how unacceptable that has become.

Politicians are always the last people we should look to in order to solve any problem.

Duh.

Sign this petition to stand with me in tackling gun violence — we can no longer afford to wait to act on gun violence. The time is now.

I’m already taking specific steps to address this crisis in Washington.

First, I’m co-sponsoring the bipartisan[1] King-Thompson bill[2], which expands existing background checks to cover all commercial firearm sales. On top of that, I’m aggressively supporting the Gun Violence Research Act[3], which will repeal the ban on CDC gun violence research.

And how many 20-25 year-old criminals will be labeled as “teen-agers? How many instances of justifiable self-defense using firearms will be lumped in as “gun violence” ?

Neither of these Acts has a real chance of passing the Republican-led U.S. House, which has to at least pay lip service to respecting the right of private civilians to own and carry weapons, as gauranteed by the Second Amendment. Even most Democrats pay that lip service, in the same breath as they propose to rewrite the Second into oblivion.

I feel strongly that everyone has the right to safety in their community. It is fundamental to the American dream, and that’s why it is imperative that we act on gun violence before it’s too late. Will you stand with me today?

It’s always “imperative,” isn’t it?

Add your name to our gun violence petition right here, right now

Best wishes,

Michelle Lujan Grisham

P.S. And just this past week, I was interviewed on KOB4 in Albuquerque to talk about the recent gun violence in New Mexico. You can watch it here.

Donning the HAZMAT Suit . . .

Yes, last week I put on the HAZMAT suit and went to the polls.

First, I voted for Jon Barela for U.S. House of Representatives. I’m wondering if I’ll have cause to regret this later – first, the Barela campaign was going to bring in Rudy Giuliani for a fundraising rally –

Oct 12 – Giuliani / Barela invitation

Former Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani Pre-Election Rally for, Jon Barela

Oct 12 Barela / Giuliani M&G Cancelled

POSTPONED: Rudy Giuliani Pre-election Rally

Then, as if Giuliani wasn’t bad enough,
the campaign sets up a rally with former Senator Pete Domenici. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t remember St. Pete being any sort of fiscal hawk. Rather, I have these memories of him talking up all of the “bacon” (piles and piles of FRNs taxed away from Productive Class people in other states) that he was “bringing home” to New Mexico.

Just for the record, I think that Jon is genuinely interested in helping the people of the District get Imperial Washington off their backs. It’s just that he seems to be listening too much to the McCleskey Machine.

Second, for Governor, I wrote in Bill Koehler, as neither of the two Establishment-anointed candidates seem to have a clue, other than each of them is the only one for the job, and the other is demonspawn.

Click the picture for the full-size version.

I know that Bill isn’t a State-sanctioned “declared write-in candidate” [1], as is Kenneth Gomez. Still, that didn’t stop the person(s) behind the site nmdefamationsuit.com from writing in Faustus Valdez.

Denish seems to be trying to play both sides of her partisan affiliation – saying “Look at the great things we did from 2002 until now” (to keep her base on board), while at the same time attempting to distance herself from Richardson as a result of the pay-to-play scandals. In the meantime, Martinez is playing up her cred as a prosecutor, giving the impression that once inaugurated, she’ll go hell-bent on bringing charges against those who were on Wild Bill’s executive-level payroll. Really, Susana, we know better than that – Republicans don’t go after Democrats from previous administrations because they know that Democrats don’t go after Republicans from previous administrations. But still, each side portrays itself as the one who will get “revenge” (?) on the other side’s indiscretions, atrocities and corruption, while they excuse those same indiscretions, atrocities and corruption because they know that the other side will give them a pass on their own misdeeds.

Let’s see – next, I voted for Dianna Duran and Matt Chandler. The Secretary of State and the Attorney General are two of the “gatekeepers” in the pay-to-play world of electoral politics, and these offices have been in Democrat hands for way too long. It’s well past time that the Democrats had their apple cart overturned. This is NOT to say that the Republicans won’t seek to develop the same sort of system on their behalf, but it will take them time to do so, and in that “downtime,” Liberty can advance. Hopefully.

Click the pictures for the full-size versions.

As for Matt Rush, he’s simply the lesser of the two evils. Ray Powell[2] is a committed eco-fascist as well as being a connected Democrat Coggie.

Concerning the Schoonover vs. Lewis race, I cast a blank here – I really can’t say anything bad about James B. Lewis. As for Schoonover, he apparently couldn’t be bothered to respond to a questionnaire sent to him by the New Mexico Breeze. If that wasn’t bad enough, I heard him when he was a guest on Janice Arnold-Jones’ 1550 KIVA-AM radio show – he seemed focused on developing the economy because people making more money, creating jobs, etc., would mean higher tax revenues that “smaller communities can’t do without” and such. Similarly, I couldn’t come up with anything bad to say about Balderas, the incumbent State Auditor. Errol Chavez, his opponent, is rather proud of his previous role in propping up Drug Prohibition, and recently was diagnosed with some sort of brain tumor. So I cast a blank in this race, as well.

Click the pictures for the full-size versions.

Next we go to my own race. I was told by someone at the County Clerk’s Elections Bureau that I was “good to go” as a write-in candidate. Yet there’s no space to write me in under Maestas’ name here. What gives?

Click the picture for the full-size version.

NOTES

  1. Bill filed with the Secretary of State’s Elections Bureau to run as an independent (no partisan affiliation) write-in candidate for Governor in early June. He was told that because he was registered to vote as a Big-“L” Libertarian, they wouldn’t put him on the ballot as an independent.

Come to think of it, they probably wouldn’t have put him on the ballot as an independent if he had switched his registration at that time, as New Mexico has a “sore loser law” – the time for him to change his registration would have been January, before the Governor’s Proclamation.

Why did he decide to run as an independent, instead of on the Libertarian Party ticket? Simple – the State Election Code says that any political party whose candidate for either Governor or President fails to get at least 0.5 percent of all of the votes cast in that race ceases to be a State-recognized political party. Regaining ballot status in New Mexico requires a party so disenfranchised to collect about 8,000 – 10,000 signatures. Usually, getting this done requires hiring paid signature gatherers, who will charge 2 per signature. Do the math – this totals up to 16,000 – 20,000, which can quickly bankrupt a smaller organization. Thus it’s not in the interests of the LP, New Mexico Greens, etc., to run candidates for Governor or President here in New Mexico.

  2. PLEASE do NOT confuse Powell the Democrat candidate with the Ray Powell who has worked with the Ron Paul 2008 campaign, New Mexico Patriot Alliance, retakecongress.com, among other things. The latter Ray is definitely one of the good guys.
