Besides, rebooting a franchise is mostly done by lazy writers, in my opinion, and the only case where the reboot has been demonstrably better than the original was Battlestar Galactica.

Back in 1985-1986, Gene Roddenberry was working on bringing Star Trek back to television. Salaries for the original cast members were too much for the budget he had available, so he cast a group of then-unknown actors. Thus Star Trek: The Next Generation was born.

Star Trek: The Next Generation ran seven seasons to The Original Series’ three, and yielded four feature films, to boot.

Star Trek: The Next Generation was followed by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, each of which ran for seven seasons, then by Star Trek: Enterprise, which ran for four seasons.

Quote of the Day for Wednesday, 13 September 2017

Filed under: Life, Quote of the Day — mikewb1971 @ 12:23 AM (00:23)

“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”

Marcus Aurelius
