The funny thing about these cameras . . . on my day job, I “operate” these things daily. Before this job, I used CCTV camera systems on the two previous jobs, as well. I’ve used Honeywell systems, Waveview, etc.

Between the dirty lens covers, lousy angles, lousy control interfaces and piss-poor operator training, it’s amazing that any actual criminals are caught using these things. And that assumes that the operator is a conscientious one — I’ve seen a few who sit there and play with their iPhone or do homework rather than watch the cameras — or even present (plenty of times where I was called away from the desk to handle some unrelated matter).

Add to all of this the fact that you can only watch these camera feeds for about 20-30 minutes before your eyes glaze over and you don’t notice squat.

For what it’s worth, the federal government didn’t shut down at all — 85% of the ferals stayed on the task of oppressing liberty. What the Obama-Pelosi-Reid-McConnell-Boehner circus really should have been called was “shutdown theater.”

I loved every minute of Obama crying about the “impending collapse” if he didn’t get his way.

And I loved every minute of Speaker Boner and McConnell attempting to play “Tea Party” while appearing to accommodate Obama’s demands.

They need to shut down more when this happens again in January, 2014. Turn the parks over to Disney or Six Flags. Shut down BATFE. Boner and McConnell need to grow a pair and tell Obama where to stick his NHS scheme.

Where in the Constitution is the federal government entitled to own massive tracts of land totalling fifty percent or more of the Western states? Are we supposed to believe that’s covered under “Arsenals, Dockyards and other Needful Buildings” ?

    Apologies for the rant.
